Our Story
Ever tried to pack for an international move? Or maybe set up your first podcast? How about preparing for a job interview at your dream company? These moments matter, and missing even one small detail can make a big difference.
That’s where Checklistoo was born. In late 2024, we set out to create the world’s most comprehensive library of checklists for, well, everything. From the everyday (like morning routines) to the once-in-a-lifetime (like planning your wedding), we’re here to help you do it properly.
Meet Our Founder
Tyler Hawkins wasn’t always the organized type. As a former software project manager at several Fortune 500 companies, he learned the hard way that even brilliant people make simple mistakes when they try to keep everything in their heads.
The lightbulb moment came during a particularly chaotic product launch in 2023. Despite his team’s expertise, they missed several critical steps simply because they hadn’t documented their process. The launch was saved at the last minute, but Tyler couldn’t shake the feeling that there had to be a better way.
Drawing from his background in both technology and process management, Tyler spent months researching how different industries, professionals, and everyday people tackle complex tasks. He discovered that the most successful outcomes almost always involved some form of checklist – whether it was surgeons in operating rooms or pilots in cockpits.
But he also noticed something else: while professional checklists existed in specialized fields, there was no single place where people could find reliable, well-researched checklists for both professional and personal tasks. The existing solutions were either too rigid, too simplified, or scattered across dozens of different websites and apps.
Tyler left his corporate job in early 2024 and poured his savings into building what would become Checklistoo. His vision? To create a platform where expertise meets simplicity, where complex tasks become manageable steps, and where anyone can access the collective wisdom of experts and experienced practitioners in any field.
